The Story of Ellen
In October, during the survey at the Ashanti-Region in Ghana, Coree World Aid Foundation made a trip to a village known as Tonto-Krom. The village is popularly known for their mining occupation and carries a history of loosing over thousands of lives through the deadly disease Buruli Ulcer some years ago.
As we gathered the children in the village that were left wondering as orphans, we noticed Ellen among the numerous children.
Her story begins with tears as she explains the bitterness within her heart concerning her hard labor. She lost both of her parents when she was 2 years old and she is now 14 years old. Her other 2 siblings have been taking care of by some relatives that live in the village. Because the relatives are facing financial difficulties, they are unable to care for her education and other necessities.
Regardless of what she experienced in life, she still managed to work at the illegal mining sector to earn a small amount of money so that she could use it to support her education at the Junior secondary school.
Sometimes it is even a problem for her to get food and she stays without it for days. Her earnings at the mining sector is only $ 2, – dollar a day. She can use that to buy some bread or keep it for school expenses. The hardship of her life at this age is at the brim of her neck and she can’t take it anymore. With tears in her eyes she concluded that she prays and asks God to send help on her way.
With $ 50 dollar a month, we can feed, clothe and care for Ellen at college. Her dream is to become a great person in the future but she can only make it through our support.
Please support Ellen so she can fulfill her dream. You can donate here. Support
